About Us

WELCOME to EMPOWERMENT TRAINING, LLC!

First and foremost I’d like to thank you for visiting our website and inquiring about our training programs.  I’m not one who likes to talk about myself, so I’ll make this short and sweet!

My name is Brian Bruni and I’m the Owner and Lead Trainer at Empowerment Training. I have worked in law enforcement for over seven years, in the detention center and on patrol, as well as with the K-9 unit undergoing hours of training and experience. I’m still an active member in law enforcement and continue to have experiences and make observations through my current line of work that I like to share in order for them to be beneficial to others safety and well being.

I began my first experiences with training over 13 years ago while running restaurants on the east coast.  I’ve always enjoyed sharing knowledge and teaching what I know to those who may have needed guidance or information.  I do, however, realize  I am not the “all-knowing instructor” and understand I can always learn something new from those around me.  A lot of the “something new” comes from my students and the questions or ideas they may have.  They afford me the ability for continuous education of my own. I may not have every answer for you, as no one knows it all, but I’ll be happy to find them for you or empower you to find them on your own!

I’m passionate about training and have tailored “user friendly” training to make you as comfortable as possible in class.  If you have any special needs or concerns, feel free to let me know and I’ll be happen to accommodate you!  My training topics are easy to understand and will provide you with the confidence and knowledge for you to stand strong in a threatening or hostile confrontation.

I want you to have a strong foundation of safety and awareness principles to help if you or a loved one are ever faced with a violent encounter.  I look forward to bringing you the best training possible to empower you to keep yourself and your loved ones safe.

WHY Empowerment Training?

I have been inspired by my mother, sisters, and two daughters to start out on this journey.  My mother is a survivor and amazing woman who had the mindset to have persevered and overcome her own life threatening encounter.  I hope to teach my daughters to do the same and couldn’t ask for a better grandmother or role model for my two girls.  I also want to make sure others are able to maintain that mindset in a potentially harmful, dangerous, or deadly situation.  I genuinely believe there is nothing more important than mindset, awareness, and knowledge when it comes to safety and survival.

You may ask yourself, “Do I really need self-defense?”

Ask yourself the following:

Have I ever had self-defense training before?

Would I know what to do if my safety felt threatened?

Have I ever thought about being in a violent encounter?

Would I know what to do if someone got into my home?

Would I know what to do if  I was threatened with someone’s fists, a weapon, or someone tried to force me to do something?

If you answered NO, to any of these questions, you will benefit from our classes.

Do you:

Live alone or your spouse is out of town on a regular basis?

Walk to a car in the dark when you leave work?

Lack confidence in feeling safe when you’re alone?

Are you:

Responsible for your safety and the safety of your children?

A student going to college away from home for the first time?

Someone who walks, jogs, or runs alone?

Have you:

Ever felt threatened and not known how to defend yourself?

Ever been or are you in an abusive relationship?

Ever been scared while you and your family were in your home?

If you answered YES to any of these questions, I can’t wait to meet you in class!
